Slag removal problem of graphite electrode in electrolysis
1677826288

Electrolytic graphite electrodes need to be made of high-purity graphite materials. Slag dropping is caused by insufficient purity of graphite material.

Graphite adhesive content is high, and adhesive and solution chemical reaction, lose the effect of adhesive. In addition, a lack of pressure during the manufacturing process results in some graphite rods having a very soft texture. When the adhesive meets the solution, the adhesive changes, and the soft graphite rods drop slag and melt into the solution.

However, high-purity graphite is resistant to acid and alkali corrosion does not drop slag, in solution needs a long time to be dissolved. Therefore, it is necessary to use a high-purity graphite electrode rod in the electrolytic process. The high-purity graphite electrode rod was baked and impregnated several times at high temperatures. Long-term baking at a high temperature of 2000℃, so that part of the binder is completely volatilized, to achieve the purpose of high purification of graphite, greatly improves the performance of graphite. When graphite contains impurities, the properties of graphite must be reduced. Therefore, the graphite electrode rod with adhesive is dissolved in the solution, and the slag is very normal.
