Graphite electrodes are used in arc furnaces for steel manufacturing. They give off heat and produce electricity to melt the steel.

Graphite electrodes are a type of electrode that is used in an Arc furnace to melt metal such as steel. They are made from graphite and they have a high melting point which allows them to withstand the heat of the furnace without burning up.

The main application of graphite electrode is arc furnace steelmaking. Graphite electrodes can provide better conductivity and maintain extremely high levels of heat generation capacity, converting electrical energy into heat. Graphite electrodes are also used in steelmaking and similar smelting processes.

The electrode holder should be held in a place beyond the security line of the top electrode; otherwise, the electrode would be easily broken. The contact surface between the holder and the electrode should be cleaned up regularly to maintain good contact. The cooling jacket of the holder shall be avoided water leakage.

Identify the reasons why there is a gap in the electrode junction, do not use the mind the gap is eliminated.

If there is a falling off of the nipple bolt when connecting electrodes, it is necessary to complete the nipple bolt.

The application of electrodes should avoid tilting operation, particularly, the group of connected electrodes should not be put horizontally to prevent them from breaking.

When charging materials to the furnace, the bulk materials should be charged to the place of the furnace bottom, to minimize the impact of the large furnace materials on the electrodes.

The large pieces of insulation materials should be avoided by stacking them on the bottom of the electrodes when smelting, to prevent them from affecting the electrode use or even breaking.

Avoid collapsing the furnace lid when rising or dropping the electrodes, which may result in electrode damage.

It is necessary to prevent the steel slag from splashing into the threads of the electrodes or nipple stored in the smelting site, which may damage the precision of the threads.
