Graphite electrodes are used in specific applications with high technical requirements for these materials; they can be exported in the form of plates, sheets, rods, etc.; Or be used in fuel cells, electrolysis, and electrolysis, among others.

- Production of aluminum, lithium, sodium, potassium, and magnesium

- Production of sodium hydroxide, sodium chlorate, and potassium chlorate.

- The electrolysis of a saline solution allows the production of hypochlorite (chlorine): this method is used to achieve ecological chlorination of pool water.

- The process of separating pure metals from compounds by electrolysis is called electrometallurgy. For example, sodium hydroxide separates into pure sodium, pure oxygen, and water.

- The electroplating process is also used to prevent metal corrosion by electroplating another metal to form a less corrosive film of metal.

Features of Graphite Electrodes:

- High performance and high conductivity electrode.

- Longer life than most carbon graphite electrodes, due to its minimal corrosion degradation.

- It has good behavior and performance against chemical corrosion typical of grounding systems (reduction-oxidation reactions, reduced oxides, or redox reactions).

Graphite powder and conductive salt improve the electrical contact performance between the graphite electrode and the ground, making the ground cracks around the electrode very firm.

- Compared to traditional ground electrodes used at 50 Hz, this method provides very low impedance at very high frequencies, making it ideal for dissipating lightning current.
